Join us for an evening of passion and art as actors, story tellers, a shaman and a dancer take you on an a creative journey and present their individual experience of what “An Affair” means to them.

Louisa Bradshaw, a sultry Midwestern beauty with many talents will tell a real life story of when she met not one but two true loves while living and making beautiful music in Berlin, some years ago. The audience will be witness not only to a provocative and factual tale but also to the heady music Louisa was recording at the time of this triple Cosmopolitan tryst.

Some 17,000 years ago Kasia, an Indo-European Shaman, went to sleep in her cozy Late Upper Paleolithic cave after a long night of wooing the moon and to her horror woke up in the 21st Century in a Lower East Side tenement apartment. For “An Affair” she is going to once again perform a Shamanic ritual circle hoping that it will transport her to when and where she belongs, while expressing unrequited desire and affection for her only love – the moon.

Evelyn McCue, a bewitching East Village Sage, with a scandalous not-so-distant-past will tell one of her complicated and multifaceted life stories where wild passion, foolish behavior and the sublime all come into play equally, forcefully and suddenly, taking the listener on a wild and mystical ride with a sweet wisdom treat at the end.

A pair of very young and enchanting fays, actors Danielle Rossler & Brandon McNeill Puryear will perform a socio-political skit, written by Danielle. This glitter and grit satire on love, though poignant with humor, will nevertheless explore some of the serious issues of what it entails to identify as – and to live as – a LGBT person in the sometimes romantic world of here and now.

Lila Ziegler, classically trained graduate of the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance will effect a luminescent performance through her medium of movement. Lila’s wish and aim is that each viewer interprets her dance in relation to their own individual encounter with an affair as she feels the immediacy of an experience is primary and the source of that experience’s existence is secondary.  Lila thanks her sister, Sofia, for pushing her to be inspired.
