written and performed by Cherie Danielle, director Marishka S. Phillips:

THE DIARY OF AN AFRO GODDESS

A Tour de Force

Isis, the Afro Goddess, is not only a Goddess, but she is also the main source of entertainment at “The Goddess Lounge”, a special place between heaven and earth, for those who need an extra boost of self- love before transitioning to the next dimension. But the only person who seems to need an extra boost is Isis herself, which leaves her audience questioning, how did she become an Afro Goddess?

Experience her journey from her hair to her career as an artist; from her beginnings of being born in 1950s Birmingham, Alabama to falling in love; to self love; as it unfolds through text, humor, drama, poetry and song, Cherie is unapologetic in rendering Isis’ story.

….her depth…range and blending of today’s Hip-Hop genre with the culture of the 60’s was so refreshing…. – Michael A. Jones, Actor, Musician, Playwright

“Cherie Danielle’s energy is infectious….a young actress with wisdom beyond her years….I enjoyed Isis’s journey immensely…”- Stephanie Calla, Owner of La Maison d’Art

“Cherie captured me from her opening monologue….her hair monologues were hilarious….one minute I was laughing my butt off and then she transported the audience into a dramatic historical odyssey of race in America via her character, Isis’ journey to self – discovery….This play should be seen by everyone…”- Clarence Mujahid Ali, Producer
