Dominicans Love Haitians Movement is celebrating our shared culture and history to unravel the racial narratives instilled by Europeans.

Utilizing the concept of SANKOFA from the Akan people of West Afrika “Sankofa teaches us that we must go back to our roots in order to move forward. That is, we should reach back and gather the best of what our past has to teach us, so that we can achieve our full potential as we move forward. Whatever we have lost, forgotten, forgone or been stripped of, can be reclaimed, revived, preserved and perpetuated.”

This event is a Fundraiser to bring independent, people of color, media artists to train young people in the Dominican Republic to hear their stories and to provide them with media skills. Your attendance will contribute to flights, food, equipment and transportation for the media artists while in the Dominican Republic.
