The Bois

Blending fast-paced scenes and rhythmic monologues, this piece of hip-hop theater shines a light on love and friendship among a group of 5 butch, boi, and trans people who play ball together and the femme women for whom they fall. This play is set in L.A. and was written with the lesbian and trans communities in mind.

“Ballin’ With My Bois” is written and directed by D’Lo. One of the most dynamic prophets of her generation, D’Lo has used her artistic prowess to communicate a global message of enlightened hope throughout the United States, Canada and the UK. Citing both music and comedy as universal languages, she has adopted them both in the creation of a message-oriented art—her own unique contribution to the creation of beauty amongst societal chaos. D’Lo has been featured as an opening act for the 2000 SPEARHEAD "Stay Human" Tour. D’Lo also recently performed in Susana Cook’s NYC production, “100 Years of Attitude,” part of Dixon Place’s HOT Festival.
